Chemotherapy Nurse
Our Chemotherapy Day Unit is seeking enthusiastic experienced Chemotherapy Nurse Practitioners to join its dedicated multi‑disciplinary chemotherapy team and work in our purpose‑built 22‑chair unit at Southend Hospital for a period of 12 months covering maternity leave.
Your role will be to support the delivery of the outpatient chemotherapy service by providing comprehensive nursing support for patients undergoing chemotherapy and supportive care in line with the broad aims of Improving Outcomes Guidance for the delivery of chemotherapy services. You will also support senior staff in mentoring, supporting and developing trainee chemotherapy nurses.
Main duties of the job
* Support the delivery of the outpatient chemotherapy service.
* Provide comprehensive nursing support for patients undergoing chemotherapy and supportive care.
* Mentor and support trainee chemotherapy nurses.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of patient care in line with national guidance.

Person Specification
Experience
* Experience in a Haematology and/or Oncology setting.
* Previous experience of nursing patients with cancer and palliative care needs.
Skills
* Chemotherapy competence/SACT passport.
* Evidence of academic SACT nursing modules.
* PAS experience.
* Nurse prescribing.
Qualifications
* NMC registered.
* Chemotherapy competency assessment.
* Counselling qualification.

£39,959 a year (Pro Rata for Part Time)
