An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Officer within the Orkney Health and Care Finance Service.
The post holder will support the Chief Finance Officer in performing the duties of the revenue accounting function.
The post holder will provide Council Services with high quality financial advice, ensuring the maintenance of sound financial and accounting practice and adherence to Council procedures. The post holder will liaise with staff across a range of disciplines both within the council and external agencies, including external audit.
There is a requirement of having excellent communication skills and be able to produce written work to a high standard. This will include sound numerical and analytical skills and be familiar with computer based financial systems.
You should have experience of working in a Finance role and be able to demonstrate knowledge of financial systems and procedures. You must also be able to work under pressure and deliver priorities within fixed timescales.
You should hold a qualification at SCQF level 5/6 i.e. SVQ2, National 5, Standard Grades, O Grade, Intermediate 2, SVQ3, Higher, National Certificate, Foundation Apprenticeship or equivalent level qualification or have a minimum of 2 years previous relevant experience as detailed in the job profile.
