Senior Mechanical Assurance Engineer – Thames Water

Responsibilities
* Collaborate with diverse internal stakeholders—including engineers, asset management, operations, and external consultants—to shape fit‑for‑purpose solutions that balance innovation, value for money, and resilience.
* Ensure designs meet Thames Water’s rigorous technical and quality standards, and oversee the delivery of large, complex capital projects.
* Maintain compliance with legislation, regulations, policies, and standards—ensuring solutions are delivered safely and meet technical and environmental requirements.
* Contribute to Thames Water’s ‘triple zero’ Health, Safety and Well‑being vision by conducting audits and reviewing Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Safe Systems of Work.
* Identify, manage and mitigate delivery risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
* Prepare Project Briefs and respond to Request for Proposals (RFPs), supporting the procurement and delivery process.
Qualifications
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
* Experience in design or construction‑related roles.
* Knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Nice‑to‑Haves
* Technical knowledge and expertise in pumping systems and mechanical package plant.
* Ability to work with multiple engineering disciplines to develop fully operational solutions.

* Competitive salary: £55,000–£65,000 p.a. (depending on skills and experience)

Work Location & Hours
Hybrid – Clearwater Court, Oxfordshire with travel to Oxford Sewage Treatment Works. The successful candidate will need to be on site 2–3 days a week. 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday. We are open to part‑time and full‑time roles.
