About Our Client
The organisation is a Public Sector organisation in Stockport. They are looking for someone to join their Finance team on a 6 month basis initially offering the role on a term time basis. The role is an all-round Finance Assistant opportunity
Job Description
Duties of the role include but are not limited to:
3. Process purchase orders, invoices, and payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with school financial procedures
4. Maintain financial records and update accounting systems
5. Support budget monitoring by tracking departmental spend and flagging variances
6. Assist with payroll administration, including timesheets and staff expense claims
7. Handle cash, banking, and reconciliation of income (e.g. trip payments, meals, lettings)
8. Provide general administrative support to the finance team and respond to staff/supplier queries
The Successful Applicant
A successful Finance Assistant should have:
9. Processed purchase orders, invoices and payments previously
10. Excellent Financial Systems knowledge and pick systems up quickly
11. Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
12. Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
13. A basic understanding of financial processes, including bookkeeping and reconciliations.
14. Good communication and organisational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
15. A positive attitude and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

16. Salary equivalent of £25,500 FTE paid on an hourly rate basis
