Overview
MIT Skills, a leading DfE funded provider in sport, is looking for tutors to deliver GCSE maths and/or English face to face one day per week at each of our football clubs' sites, to our cohorts of committed learners (various locations available in England).
Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare and teach courses for learners within the MIT programme of work, as agreed with senior management.
* Carry out the administrative tasks required in each programme area.
* Provide appropriate learner feedback and support.
* Provide educational advice and information where necessary, and create an appropriate and welcoming atmosphere for learners.
* Plan, deliver and report on your course, using methods and materials appropriate to the learner group and course content.
* Prepare/adapt appropriate teaching materials.
* Identify/assess the needs of learners and adapt course content and delivery style to meet these needs; deal with individual learner support needs, using the appropriate forms and recording the required evidence for funding purposes.
* Discuss Learning Outcomes or moderation requirements with learners as the course proceeds.
* Comply with MIT policies on Equality and Diversity and Prevent so that all learners are treated with respect and dignity; deal with any harassment or discrimination issues that arise.
* Evaluate the effectiveness of learning; assess learners' work where appropriate; keep records of learners progress and ensure learners are given feedback on their progress within regular reviews.
* Offer advice on further learning and progression opportunities to learners as required.
* Ensure that all required paperwork, including learning outcomes forms, course registers and weekly reviews are completed and communicated to the relevant office in a timely manner (vital for funding purposes).
* Undertake other duties as directed by line managers commensurate with the post.
* Particular duties include: participating in team meetings, events and training; contributing to the development and implementation of the overall ethos/work/aims of MIT Skills; and working in accordance with MIT Skills' policies, particularly regarding equality and diversity, bullying and harassment, health and safety, child protection and Prevent.

* CRB/DBS level: enhanced
* Skills and Abilities:
o Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment and with team members to deliver improved outcomes.
o Effective verbal and written communication with colleagues.
o Ability to meet deadlines in a pressurised and sensitive environment, with awareness of confidentiality and information sharing protocols.
o Ability to apply MIT Skills' safeguarding, Prevent and equality and diversity agendas.
o Highly organised with attention to detail.
o Ability to work as part of a small team and be flexible.
o Emotional resilience to work in challenging environments and in a changingorganisation.
Experience
* Tutoring experience in a government funded environment (desirable).
* Relevant professional competency to deliver the course.
Knowledge/Skills
* Proficient in Microsoft packages.
* Must hold or work towards teaching qualifications.
