Job Role: Manual Machinist
Location: Slough
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 3 months initially - potential to join permanently
Pay: £20ph PAYE
Shift - Double Days
Early day shift - Monday to Thursday 05:55 to 13:15 and Friday 05:55 to 13:25, with 20 minutes lunch break each day.
Late day shift - Monday to Thursday 13:10 to 20:35 and Friday 13:10 to 20:30, with 20 minutes lunch break each day.
Role Overview
The position involves producing precision components using a range of automated and manual machining equipment. You will follow technical specifications and engineering documentation to deliver high-quality parts for internal assembly teams or external clients.
Manual Machinist Key Responsibilities
Manual Machining of bespoke part using manual mills & laths
Set up and run various CNC and conventional equipment-including turning, milling, multi-axis, and grinding machinery-to manufacture parts accurately and efficiently.
Load and prepare raw materials, ensuring all tools, fixtures, and programs are correctly configured before machining.
Inspect completed components to confirm conformity with technical standards and dimensional requirements before progressing to the next stage of production.
Carry out measurement and validation using precision tools and coordinate measuring equipment (CMM).
Manual Machinist Requirements
Hands-on experience with CNC or manual machining processes such as milling, turning, or grinding.
Ability to understand and work from engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and expand technical skills in a production environment.
Engineering training, an apprenticeship, or proven machining experience is highly beneficial
