Third Hand Care (Third Hand Healthcare Ltd) – Chichester & Surrounding areas

If you want stable income, proper support, and real career progression, join a care provider that invests in people—not just rotas.

We’re recruiting caring, reliable Home Care Assistants to support adults in their own homes with personal care, meal support, medication prompts, companionship, and helping clients stay independent.

What makes us different and why people stay with us:

* Guaranteed hours in writing (15–35 hrs/week) – not “we’ll see how it goes”
* Overtime available if you want to earn more (you tell us what extra hours you can do)
* DBS checks: we don’t charge employees (you shouldn’t have to pay to work)
* Birthday Morrisons Shopping Voucher (Help you enjoy your birthday)
* Paid training + supported induction (ideal if you’re new to care)
* Paid shadowing / buddy support so you’re confident before working alone
* Career pathway: support into RQF/NVQ Level 2/3/5 (subject to role/contract hours and suitability)
* Supportive local management—regular check-ins and supervision, not “out of sight, out of mind”
* CQC-registered provider with strong standards and a people-first culture

Do you have a natural caring nature and a full UK driver’s licence? Join Third Hand Care and build a rewarding career supporting people to live independently in their own homes.

Who We’re Looking For:
✔ Experienced Healthcare Assistants/Support Workers
✔ Individuals looking for a new, meaningful career
✔ Those with experience supporting elderly people, autistic service users and individuals with complex needs

About The Role

This is a hands-on, person-centred role where no two days are the same. You will be supporting individuals in their own homes, helping them live safely, comfortably, and with dignity.

You will:
• Provide personal care including washing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support
• Support individuals with autism by understanding routines, communication needs, and behaviours
• Assist with complex care needs such as PEG feeding, tracheostomy and ventilated care (training provided)
• Promote independence, choice, and dignity at all times
• Build positive relationships with service users and their families
• Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate care records and follow care plans
• Respond calmly and safely to behaviours of concern where required

This role can be physically demanding but is incredibly rewarding. You will always be supported by a dedicated and experienced team.

Do you offer guaranteed hours or zero-hours?
Yes—we offer guaranteed hours in writing (15–35 hours per week). We also support flexibility where it suits you and the service.

Can I increase my income beyond my guaranteed hours?
Yes—overtime is available. Let your coordinator know your weekly availability and we’ll offer additional runs where possible.

I don’t have training—can I still apply?
Yes. Whether you’re experienced or new, we provide paid training and a supported induction—plus paid shadowing/buddy support so you’re confident in the role.

What support will I get once I start?
You’ll have a named local team, regular check-ins, and supervision. We don’t just train and disappear—we support you to succeed.

Do you offer additional qualifications (NVQs/RQFs)?
Yes. We support eligible staff into RQF/NVQ Level 2/3 and beyond, aligned to your role, performance, and contracted hours.

Do I have to pay for my DBS?
No. We don’t charge employees for DBS checks.
