Site Engineers - Hertfordshire & Norfolk (x2 Roles)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Site-Based (Contingency Worker) Start Date: 26th August 2025 Contract Length: 6-month rolling (2-year project) Day Rate: £400/ day Key Responsibilities:
1. Support Site Manager and oversee subcontractor activities
2. Interpret and maintain site/ construction/ rebar drawings
3. Set out, level, and survey site works
4. Verify subcontractor compliance with drawings and specifications
5. Maintain site records, QA documentation, and as-built data
6. Manage temporary works as TWC
7. Ensure material and installation quality standards
8. Handle Technical Queries and RFIs
9. Liaise with clients, consultants, and site teams
10. Promote health, safety, and environmental compliance
11. Lead by example in SHEQ standards
12. Issue Permits to Dig and ensure drawing compliance Essential Requirements:
13. Full UK driving licence
14. CSCS or CCNSG Safety Passport
15. SMSTS, SSSTS or IOSH Managing Safely
16. Minimum 5 years' experience in T&D industry (preferably on National Grid sites)
17. National Grid Person certification is mandatory
18. National Grid Competent Person NSI 6 & 8 (Full) - highly desirable
19. Temporary Works Coordinator/ Supervisor experience
20. Strong civils and substation installation background
21. Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
22. Ability to travel nationally and work 50 hours/ week
