Overview
Join to apply for the General Services Porter/Driver role at NHS Borders.
The post holder will deliver portering duties within wards, departments and office areas when required and instructed, whilst contributing to delivery of patient care in line with organisational priorities. Driving duties may be undertaken on occasion to ensure flow of patient discharges and to assist with any urgent transport requests when required.
Hours and pattern: The successful candidate will be required to work two weekdays as required to meet the needs of the service. 15 hours per week (Monday to Friday two days but days will vary).
Salary note: Please note: the salary quoted is for full-time hours (37 hrs per week). For appointments to part-time hours, the salary will be pro-rata.

* Assist with patient transport and the movement of items to support patient care.
Qualifications and requirements
* Applicants will be required to demonstrate a high level of competence in domestic activities, flexibility and knowledge of the NHS Borders Behavioural Framework.
* Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, there may be a different level of criminal records check. If the post is assessed as a "regulated role", appointment will be subject to joining the PVG Scheme. Any changes will be confirmed by the Hiring Manager or Recruitment Team.
* To work in the United Kingdom, you must have permission to work in the country. NHS Scotland Boards will check entitlement to work in the UK as part of pre-employment checks.
