Position: Van Pack Drainage Engineer
Location: Millbrook Depot (Southampton); once competent you will work door-to-door across the region.
Job Type: Permanent, full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week (flexible hours, weekends, on‑call rota).
Salary: OTE £35,000 (basic pay + overtime)

Full training, PPE, and company equipment will be provided to enable safe and competent operation.
Responsibilities
* Travel to residential sites in a van and restore drainage using high‑pressure water jet equipment.
* Clean, clear and maintain drainage systems.
* Record each job report accurately on the specialist equipment provided.
* Run diagnostics and perform repairs on drains.
* Deliver excellent customer service.
* Maintain good health and safety practice while carrying out works.
* Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished.
* Comply with health and safety responsibilities (PPE, safe site set‑ups, lone worker system, etc.).
* Use VISTEC and Salesforce platforms for reporting and communication.
* Work unsupervised in all weather conditions using appropriate PPE and lone worker procedures.
* Dynamically risk‑assess site access and working conditions upon arrival.
* Liaise with the client regarding progress and any updates.
* Provide support to colleagues.
* Conduct thorough inspections of tools, equipment and plant before and after use.
* Report any defects or malfunctions in compliance with training requirements.
* Carry out risk assessments and demonstrate a mature approach to risk perception.
* Be aware of Lanes Group policies and personal responsibilities towards them.
* Perform any other reasonable ad‑hoc duties requested by management.
Qualifications
* Full UK driver’s licence.
* Experience with high‑pressure jetting equipment is useful but not essential.
* Other drainage qualifications (e.g., NRSWA, Confined Spaces) are an advantage.
