Job Description: Quality & Sustainability Manager
In this role, you will be responsible for shaping and implementing the brand’s strategy around quality control, ethical trade, and sustainability. This management role involves working cross-functionally to ensure products meet high standards of quality and compliance, while adhering to our commitment to environmental sustainability and ethical practices across the supply chain.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced people manager, responsible for a medium-sized team. A progressive mindset and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are critical. This role suits someone with high energy and broad expertise in fashion retailing.
Key Responsibilities
1. Managing daily operations of the tech department, including critical dates, fitting processes, sourcing fit models, measuring proto samples, and maintaining communication between supply base and internal teams.
2. Delivering team KPIs on fit times, comment processing, and tech pack deadlines.
3. Managing the fit timetable process, ensuring stakeholder attendance aligned with critical dates.
4. Reviewing consistency in blocks, grading, and fit to create uniformity across categories.
5. Analyzing returns to identify fit issues and implementing solutions.
6. Leading initiatives supporting the brand strategy.
7. Providing regular updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.
8. Mentoring and coaching the team to foster growth in line with brand values.
9. Overseeing product quality and fit to meet or exceed brand and customer expectations.
10. Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and manufacturing partners, including travel as needed.
11. Onboarding new supply partners to meet sourcing strategies and mitigate risks.
12. Supporting supply chain traceability efforts.
13. Championing sustainable materials, packaging, and production processes.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
1. Proven experience in a senior role focusing on quality control, ethics, and sustainability in the fashion industry.
2. Knowledge of pattern cutting and communication with international suppliers, understanding draping techniques.
3. Experienced team leader with a progressive mindset, capable of developing a passionate team.
4. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
5. Collaborative with a drive for innovation and continuous improvement.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven decision-making approach.
7. Deep understanding of sourcing and supply chain needs.
8. Knowledge of relevant UK, US, and EU regulations and standards.
9. Willingness to travel to factories and supply chain partners.
