Key Responsibilities
Manage a varied criminal defence caseload
Attend police stations, providing legal advice and representation
Conduct advocacy in the Magistrates’ Court, including bail applications, case management hearings, and trials
Prepare cases, liaise with clients, and undertake criminal litigation tasks
Qualified Solicitors: Participate in the Duty Solicitor Rota
Essential Skills & Experience
Qualified Solicitor or Trainee Solicitor close to qualification
Experience or strong exposure to criminal law, police station work, or court advocacy
Confidence in communication, client care, and case preparation
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong commitment to providing high-quality legal services
Desirable (Not Essential)
Duty Solicitor accreditation (full support available for those seeking accreditation)
