The Archaeology Data Service (ADS) is a world-leading digital repository providing digital data archiving services for UK archaeology. We are part of UKRI’s research infrastructure and hold the CoreTrustSeal. Based at the University of York, we collaborate with external partners in Higher Education, public, and commercial archaeological sectors. Our services include ADS-easy for online file deposition and OASIS for recording UK fieldwork events, hosted on behalf of national heritage agencies. Located within the Department of Archaeology at the medieval King’s Manor in central York, the successful candidate will be a staff member at the University of York, benefiting from a pension scheme and various employee benefits. Role
This role aims to enhance the ADS’s commercial income and support the Collections Development Manager. Responsibilities include conducting market research to understand client needs and barriers, exploring new markets, performing cost analysis under supervision, and aiding in developing new cost models. The post involves customer-focused tasks such as providing quotations, maintaining an updated client list, and keeping accurate records within the ADS’s Collection Management System. The role is vital for expanding the ADS commercial client base, increasing revenue, establishing new partnerships, and strengthening our reputation as a leading digital archive for the UK’s national heritage sector. The post-holder will report to the Collections Development Manager.
