Within the Anti-Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery Operation Unit in the Hillingdon area of West London we are looking for a flexible and highly motivated persons with exceptional people skills who relishes the opportunity to empower vulnerable individuals to regain control of their lives. You will be working with a team of highly motivated and skilled individuals to provide support to survivors of human trafficking and modern slavery in accommodation-based service.
The support provided to our residents is tailored according to their needs and as such is very person centred, concentrating primarily on the individual’s wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
The role of Night Concierge is to provide a high-quality frontline service to victims of modern slavery, including forced labour and other forms of human trafficking. You will be responsible for ensuring the wellbeing and safety of our residents during the night, provide support to reassure and motivate them towards recovery.
The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:
1. Empathy, patience and kindness towards residents and new arrivals
2. Good customer service skills.
3. The ability to prioritise own workload.
4. Proficiency in a range of IT packages including Microsoft.
5. Knowledge of the main support needs faced by vulnerable clients
6. The ability to work within the Christian ethos of the Salvation Army.
7. Good written and verbal communication skills.
8. Extensive experience working within a supported accommodation environment
9. An understanding of legislation relating to Health and Safety and safeguarding of clients and staff
10. Ability to work within the Christian ethos of The Salvation Army
11. Implement Person Centred Support Plans and facilitation methods to promote client engagement and wellbeing.
12. Good written and verbal communication skills.
13. Ability to successfully work independently and within a team
