We’re looking for a driven, inquisitive individual to join our planning team. This role is ideal for someone with a background in planning and/or law, who enjoys solving complex problems and approaching challenges with a detective’s mindset.
As adviser to a major UK retailer, you will be at the forefront of high impact planning matters, working on cases that influence both their business and the wider planning landscape. You will gain unparalleled exposure to Court proceedings, contributing directly to the development of precedents that shape the industry.
What you’ll be doing
* Investigating complex planning issues with a forensic, detail-driven approach
* Preparing robust defences and strategic planning arguments
* Working closely with internal teams, external experts and solicitors and leading counsel
* Supporting litigation processes
* Helping to shape strategies that influence local and national policy outcomes
* Advising the business on planning risks, opportunities, and compliance
What we’re looking for
* A background in town planning, planning law, public law, or a related discipline
* Strong analytical skills and a natural curiosity – you enjoy “joining the dots”
* Excellent written communication and argument-building abilities
* Confidence navigating legal and technical documents
* Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment with real responsibility
