Senior Sous Chef – Brands Hatch
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior Sous Chef to lead the back-of-house catering operations at the legendary Brands Hatch motor racing circuit in Kent.
This is an exciting opportunity to oversee food offerings at multiple outlets, including restaurants and suites used for raceday hospitality, conferences, corporate functions, and Christmas parties.
The successful candidate will be passionate about food, possess strong leadership and team skills, and have a proven track record of delivering exceptional culinary experiences.
Brands Hatch, with a history spanning nearly a century, is a world-class venue renowned for outstanding catering. It hosts major European racing events such as GT World Challenge, British Superbikes, British Touring Cars, and EuroNASCAR.
The venue also hosts midweek activities including track days, race car testing, driving experiences, and corporate driving days.
Working closely with the Catering Manager and team, you will ensure that food quality consistently meets high standards.
Responsibilities of the Senior Sous Chef:
* Menu Development: Create diverse, innovative menus catering to various tastes and dietary needs in collaboration with the Catering Manager.
* Catering Oversight: Manage food offerings across all outlets, ensuring consistency and quality.
* Event Catering: Deliver catering services for events like race day hospitality, conferences, and corporate functions.
* Supplier Management: Source high-quality ingredients at competitive prices and maintain supplier relationships.
* Quality and Standards: Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene.
* Staff Training and Leadership: Lead, train, and manage kitchen staff for efficient operations.
* Stock Control & Efficiency: Oversee inventory, control stock levels, and assist in purchasing decisions.
* Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food regulations.
Role Requirements:
* Proven Leadership: Experience as a Senior Sous Chef or Sous Chef in high-volume, fast-paced kitchens.
* Passion for Excellence: Commitment to delivering exceptional food and service.
* Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
* Financial Acumen: Ability to control costs and optimize operations.
* Time Management: Efficiently manage time and meet deadlines.
* Certifications: Relevant Food Safety and Hygiene qualifications.

This is a permanent 42.5-hour contract, primarily working 6am – 4pm, with additional hours during race season (March to November). A full UK driving license is essential. A basic DBS check will be conducted.
The role involves active cooking across outlets, from quick-service to high-end VIP hospitality. We may consider a Sous Chef ready to step into a senior role.
