Role Overview
As a Material Planner, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient supply of materials required for production. This includes managing inventory levels, coordinating with suppliers, and working cross-functionally with purchasing, production, and logistics teams.
You will play a key role in supporting operational performance and minimising disruptions to the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and schedule materials to meet production requirements and maintain optimal inventory levels
* Monitor and manage stock levels using ERP/MRP systems
* Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any supply issues
* Maintain accurate material planning data including lead times, safety stock, and order quantities
* Collaborate with production and purchasing teams to align supply plans with production schedules
* Monitor supplier performance and escalate issues as required
* Support continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain function
Requirements
* Previous experience in a material planning, production planning, or supply chain role within a manufacturing environment
* Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* A proactive, team-oriented mindset
