Role: Temporary Legal Support Officer
Location: Rochdale (Predominantly Office-Based)
Rate: £25 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: Approx. 6 Months (Immediate Start Available)
The Opportunity
CRA Consulting is delighted to be working in partnership with a Local Authority in Rochdale to recruit a Temporary Legal Support Officer to support their busy Children and Adults legal teams. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with prior legal support experience - or someone looking to build their career within a Local Authority setting - to gain hands‑on exposure to meaningful legal work, particularly within family law and Court of Protection matters. You'll be joining a supportive team environment where your contribution will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of legal processes that directly impact vulnerable individuals and families.
What You'll Be Doing
* Preparing court bundles for Family Court and Court of Protection matters
* Providing administrative and legal support to both Children and Adults legal teams
* Assisting with document management and case preparation
* Supporting lawyers with general legal administration duties
* Ensuring deadlines are met in a fast‑paced legal environment
* Maintaining accurate and organised case files
What They're Looking For
* Previous experience working within a legal or administrative environment (desirable but not essential)
* Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
* Ability to work efficiently and manage multiple tasks
* A proactive and reliable approach
* Good communication skills and a willingness to learn
* Ability to work predominantly office‑based
