The Opportunity
A warm and welcoming nursery in Southsea is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner Assistant to join their team. You’ll play a vital role in supporting children aged 0–5, helping them explore, grow, and thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.
You’ll work alongside experienced staff to deliver engaging activities, support daily routines, and foster a love of learning through play and discovery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting children’s learning and development through play-based activities
* Assisting with daily routines including meals, hygiene, and rest times
* Encouraging social interaction, communication, and emotional well-being
* Creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment
* Working closely with colleagues and families to support each child’s unique needs

* A kind, patient, and proactive attitude
* Confidence working with young children aged 0–5
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Adaptability and a calm, nurturing approach
* Experience in a nursery or early years setting is ideal, but not essential
