Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support the learning of a pupil with SEND in one of our excellent Primary Schools in Chopwell on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils on a 1:1 basis and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development.
About the Role:
1. The role will involve supporting a pupil with ASD who is also none-verbal.
2. The role will also involve working alongside the Class Teacher to plan and deliver inspiring learning activities that are suited to the needs and learning style of pupils.
3. A key part of the role will be to develop an understanding of the needs and learning style of the pupil, working closely alongside Class Teachers and colleagues to establish routines and strategies that allow the pupil to make progress.

4. The role is based in an inspirational Primary School in Gateshead.
5. The role is to support a pupil in KS1 on a 1:1 basis
Pay, Hours and Contract:
6. Pay – Between £95-110 per day
7. Hours –
8. Contract – Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2026. Temporary Contract.
9. Start Date – ASAP.
10. Location – Gateshead
Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:
11. A Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare-based Qualification (desired)
12. Experience of working with Children in Schools in the UK
13. An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff.
14. A resilient, proactive, and positive nature
15. Hold Right to Work in the UK
16. Ability to drive and access to a car (desired)
17. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
18. Provide two professional references that cover the last two years
