Event Bartender

The Role
The Event Bartender reports to the Director of F&B with oversight from the Banquet Captain and works in a team environment with other F&B professionals. Responsibilities include possessing a background in basic bartending techniques, managing time effectively, and having knowledge of beverages and cocktails. You will create memorable guest experiences by delivering food and drinks timely and friendly, with in-depth menu knowledge to ensure safe service for guests with allergies and restrictions.
Reliability, responsibility, punctuality, and a positive attitude are essential. You will work primarily evenings and weekends as part of an on-call schedule, making it a great secondary position for extra income.
What You Will Do
1. Provide professional service exceeding guest expectations, ensuring responsible alcohol service, and creating lasting impressions.
2. Maintain knowledge of menus, ingredients, and daily availability; handle monetary transactions accurately.
3. Use your beverage knowledge to enhance guest experiences and share insights about the products.
4. Assist with all aspects of the guest experience, including greeting, stocking, and responding to requests promptly.
5. Collaborate with team members and use your intuition to improve service quality.
6. Share the history of Jasper Hotel and promote local collaborations.
7. Uphold the company's principles of People, Place, and Character.
8. Maintain an organized, clean workspace and respectful attitude towards guests and colleagues.
9. Observe facility conditions and communicate issues to management.
10. Coordinate effectively with F&B and Culinary teams to ensure timely service.
11. Support other F&B areas as needed, including Banquets, Café, In-Room Dining, Pool, and Restaurants.
12. Comply with non-discrimination policies and hotel regulations.
Position Requirements
1. Passion for community, hospitality, and guest service.
2. At least 2 years of bartending experience in a restaurant or bar setting.
3. Ability to obtain/maintain Server Certification within 30 days of hire.
4. Must meet local age requirements for alcohol service.
5. Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
6. Fluency in English, both verbal and non-verbal.
Additional Requirements
1. Continuous standing, walking, and negotiating wet and uneven surfaces.
2. Fine motor skills for pouring, decorating, and setting up.
3. Lifting/carrying up to 30 lbs. regularly, occasional heavier loads.
4. Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
