We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, committed, and highly motivated teacher with the ability to deliver high-quality education that inspires a love of learning and a determination among students to achieve their highest potential. Manchester Islamic Grammar School for Girls is an independent all-girls secondary school for students aged 11–16, located on the Fielden Campus, West Didsbury, Manchester, M20 2PQ. West Didsbury is an affluent suburb of South Manchester, ideally situated with easy access to bus and tram routes into Manchester city centre. It is a vibrant area, offering a balance of cosmopolitan energy and a village-like atmosphere.
We are a relatively small school of approximately 290 students. Alongside our partner schools, KD Grammar School for Boys and Manchester Muslim Preparatory School, we form part of the highly successful Manchester Islamic Educational Trust, founded in 1991. We have been rated Outstanding in our last three Ofsted inspections.
Our mission is to prepare, engage, and enthuse our students by helping them identify their talents and build on their strengths. We offer a fully enriched SMSC programme, enabling students to demonstrate their skills beyond the classroom and develop into responsible adults who contribute positively to both their communities and the wider society. As a Muslim school, faith is at the heart of everything we do and is central to the school’s ethos.
We follow the National Curriculum in all subjects including PE but we don't deliver a GCSE in PE.
You will have:
* A degree-level qualification in PE or a related field
* A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE with QTS), preferably with experience teaching in UK schools
* The right to work in the UK
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A commitment to supporting the ethos of the school in all respects

At the shortlisting stage candidates will be required to complete a self- declaration form regarding their criminal record (unless ‘protected’) and will also be required to submit any information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. Any such information will be treated in strictest confidence and used only in consideration of the suitability of the post. Criminal convictions will not automatically exclude you from being considered unless they fall within the threshold of being relevant and unsuitability, and will be considered on a case by case basis or as defined by the Department for Education.
