As a Sexual Offence Nurse Examiner, you will play a critical role in our multidisciplinary team, providing assessments and evidence that inform legal outcomes. Our Examiners ensure high‑quality care and evidential integrity for both children and adults who have been exposed to sexual violence.

Competitive salary: £42,000 per annum as a starting salary with full training given, rising to £45,000 once certain qualifications and training have been achieved.

Key Responsibilities
* Perform holistic, forensic clinical assessments for children, young people, and adults who experienced sexual assault, with a meticulous eye for detail.
* Interact sensitively, ensuring a trauma‑informed approach to care supporting self‑referrals along with police referrals.
* Uphold the highest standards of data integrity and confidentiality in documentation and evidence handling.
* Co‑produce individual management plans tailored to the needs of each client.
* Provide testimony in court, contributing to the integrity of legal proceedings.
* Engage in ongoing training and professional development as part of our Novice to Expert programme.
* Lead initiatives, mentor peers, and engage in programmes designed to enhance professional skills and service delivery.
* Support the continuous quality improvement of our services under the requirements of the Forensic Science Regulator with the wider teams.
Ideal Candidate
* Registered nurses with experience or an interest in forensic and legal medicine and a minimum of 3 years post‑qualification.
* Committed to undertaking a comprehensive competency framework.
* Willing to work towards master’s level study, complete educational courses and be prepared to provide testimony to court.

Qualifications
* Professional registration: registered nurse with current NMC registration.
* Higher education: evidence of master’s level study.
Other Requirements
* Experience: minimum of 3 years post‑qualification experience.
* Phlebotomy skills: competence in venepuncture.
* Safeguarding knowledge: thorough understanding and compliance with safeguarding principles and procedures for both children and adults.
* Forensic experience: current experience in a sexual offences examination environment or similar forensic roles.
* Court experience: experience in providing written or oral evidence for court.
* Examination proficiency: skilled in conducting detailed forensic examinations and collecting evidence in compliance with the Forensic Science Regulator’s guidelines.
* Clinical care: ability to provide appropriate medical care including STI screening, emergency contraception, mental health evaluations, and accurate and detailed documentation.
