Hays are working with a successful business who are looking for an experienced Accountant to join their team in Shrewsbury. working closely with the FD and finance team
Your new role
1. Reports directly to the Finance Director, supporting the delivery of accurate and timely financial information
2. Works closely with the wider finance team to ensure strong financial controls and efficient processes
3. Assisting with month‑end close, management accounts, and balance sheet reconciliations
4. Assists with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management across construction contracts
5. Ensurespliance with statutory, tax, and industry‑specific requirements
6. Liaises with operational andmercial teams to provide meaningful financial insight
7. Supports continuous improvement of finance processes and systems within the business
What you'll need to succeed
8. Experience working to deadlines and supporting month‑end processes
9. Confidence collaborating with a Finance Director and wider finance team
10. Proactive and organised, with a willingness to learn and improve processes
