Information Technology Support Officer
Location: NIAS, Saintfield Road
Hours: Full-Time (Mon‑Fri, 9am‑5pm)
Pay Rate: £15.88 per hour
JOB SUMMARY
The post holder will be responsible for the support and delivery of an extensive range of Information Technology (IT) Systems within NIAS. As a member of the IT Team, the candidate will provide support and assistance for the implementation, operation, and improvement of the Trust’s IT Systems and Services.
In conjunction with the Senior IT Technician and IT Manager, the candidate will help implement the Trust’s IT strategy and related policies to ensure effective and efficient IT services, supporting the Trust in achieving its objectives.
This role includes providing end‑user support, undertaking complex fault diagnosis and resolution for the full range of IT Systems within NIAS, ensuring that assigned faults are managed in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining the Help Desk Management System (investigating and resolving fault calls using own expertise or with third‑party maintainers), maintaining an accurate inventory of computer hardware and software, managing third‑party software and liaising with vendors, participating in a security rota for backup tape changes, and undertaking site visits for repair, maintenance, and assessment of IT developments.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
* University Degree or recognised equivalent professional qualification in Information Communication and Technology (ICT) discipline, AND at least 1 year experience in the installation and support of the full range of network‑based computer equipment, such as personal computers, printers and data switches.
* HND or recognised equivalent professional qualification in ICT discipline, AND at least 2 years experience in the installation and support of the full range of network‑based computer equipment.
* At least 4 years experience in the installation and support of the full range of network‑based computer equipment.
* Working knowledge and experience of Microsoft desktop application software and Windows 2003 server.
* Working knowledge and experience of Help Desk Management Systems.
* Working knowledge and experience of Intranet/Internet Portal Systems and Technologies.
* Hold a current full driving licence and/or have access to a form of transport which will permit the applicant to meet the post requirements in full.
