Join to apply for the Early Years Classroom Teacher role at Witherslack Group.
Up to £65,283. The successful candidate must have proven experience teaching within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), as they will be teaching an EYFS class of children.
Responsibilities
* Teach pupils who are autistic and have needs within the EYFS/early years scope.
* Communicate in a variety of ways (70% of pupils are non-verbal; use Makaton, picture display symbols, PECs and PODD as appropriate).
* Deliver a bespoke and accessible curriculum, adapting lessons for pupils with diverse needs.
* Support pupils to manage behaviour by understanding the function of behaviour and applying appropriate strategies.
* Work with pupils from 4 to 11 years old, showing flexibility and resilience.
* Collaborate with in-house psychologists, teaching assistants and therapy professionals to support student progress.
Qualifications
* Must have worked with pupils who are autistic and have previous experience of this.
* Ability to communicate using non-verbal methods (Makaton, PECs, PODD) as 70% of pupils are non-verbal.
* Experience with challenging behaviour and the ability to support pupils to understand and manage it.
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and prior teaching experience in EYFS.
