EDF Wholesale Market Services (WMS) is a core business line within EDF UK Customers that helps Britain achieve Net Zero. It provides industry-leading wholesale market services to EDF’s supply and business units and third-party energy asset owners across various market segments including residential, business supply, nuclear, renewable, thermal, and storage & flexible energy.
This role is within the Volume Forecasting Systems team, responsible for re-platforming and enhancing our forecasting systems to enable market-leading performance. We seek a talented Data Scientist to develop forecasting models to minimize costs and maximize accuracy.
Pay, Benefits, and Culture

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Data Scientist, you will maintain and develop accurate B2B and Residential Volume Forecasting models, optimizing performance and reducing costs in our cloud-based system using tools like Amazon SageMaker, Python, and R. You will collaborate across teams to ensure best practices in designing, deploying, and managing models, focusing initially on migrating existing models into our new Python-based AWS environment.
Who You Are
You possess exceptional numerical and mathematical skills, with a solid understanding of UK energy markets. Proficiency in modeling, SQL, Python, and R is essential. Familiarity with Machine Learning operations, Snowflake, and AWS technologies is advantageous. You are collaborative, inclusive, outcomes-focused, and adaptable, committed to continuous improvement.
