Class2 HGV Driver
Aberdeen Laundry Services (ALS Group) is seeking a Class2 HGV Driver to join our team. As a leading textile rental and laundry provider with four strategic sites across Scotland, we're looking for someone who can elevate our brand presence while championing our sustainability initiatives.
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all relevant regulations. This role requires strong communication skills and mechanical knowledge to ensure the vehicle is maintained in good working order. The successful applicant will have experience in commercial driving, including operating various types of vehicles.
Class2 HGV Driver Responsibilities
* Safely operate a lorry or van to transport goods to designated locations.
* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring it is in safe working condition.
* Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of materials during transport.
* Maintain accurate delivery logs and records, including mileage and fuel consumption.
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
* Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
* Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing the company positively at all times.
Class2 HGV Driver Qualifications
* Valid commercial driving licence with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle operated.
* Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role within a warehouse environment.
* Strong mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance on the vehicle as needed.
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members and clients.
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
* A good understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods.
