This Industrial Placement at GSK spans one year beginning July 2026. Designed for undergraduate students in HR, Business Management, Psychology or a related discipline, the placement offers a real role with direct impact across Global R&D and Early Careers teams. Participants work in office or remotely depending on performance and role needs.
Location: GSK HQ, London (Role 1 & 3) or Stevenage (Role 2)
Start date: July 2026 | Duration: 1 year (approximately) | Salary: £27,100 (GSK HQ) or £25,400 (Stevenage) plus a bonus
Eligibility & Requirements
* Currently studying an undergraduate degree in HR, Business Management, Psychology or a related subject.
* Completed at least two years of the degree and will not have graduated at the start of the placement.
* Enrolled at a UK or ROI university for the placement duration.
* Written and spoken fluency in English.
* Exclusion: holders of a bachelor’s degree who are currently studying a postgraduate master’s are not eligible.

Roles Available
Role 1 – R&D HR Business Partnering
Location: GSK HQ, London
Overview: Supports the Global R&D HR Business Partnering team in designing and delivering people initiatives to meet the needs of the Global R&D business. Contributes to people strategy development and execution while gaining a comprehensive understanding of HR practices.
* Support the team in providing people solutions and guidance to Global R&D leaders.
* Assist HR Business Partners with leadership, culture, capability and talent initiatives.
* Collaborate with HR colleagues and business stakeholders to understand needs and provide appropriate support.
* Contribute to project delivery, including talent management, employee engagement, business changes and organisational development.
* Assist in data analysis and reporting to identify trends and insights for HR and business decision‑making.
Role 2 – R&D Talent & Inclusion – Early Talent Programmes
Location: Stevenage
Overview: Works with the R&D Early Talent Team to ensure global early‑talent programmes run smoothly and deliver impact. Involved in the full lifecycle of talent programmes through attraction, recruitment, development and off‑boarding.
* Support onboarding programmes for new employees in R&D.
* Support recruitment, selection, development and tracking of future talent programme cohorts and summer students.
* Work with hiring managers to create compelling advertisements and internal communications.
* Assist in collation and tracking of metrics to support recruitment and diversity agenda.
* Lead after‑action reviews and implement process improvements.
* Collaborate across borders with colleagues in multiple countries to build a global HR network.
Role 3 – Early Careers Recruitment
Location: GSK HQ, London
Overview: Supports the Early Careers Recruitment (ECR) team in engaging, attracting and hiring high‑quality, qualified candidates across Early Careers pipelines, including Apprentices, Interns (African placements) and Graduates, with a continuous focus on inclusion.
* Support Attraction Specialist with UK and global ET website content refresh and updates.
* Ensure all UK ETR roles are posted through partner sites including university/school websites.
* Coordinate events such as “Careers Collaboration” and “GSK Revealed”.
* Attend and run apprentice career insight events/webinars directly or through partners.
* Engage and leverage current Early Talent (Apprentices, Interns, Grads) to attend attraction & engagement events.
* Develop and deliver Internal Ambassador Training (under supervision of Attraction Specialist).
* Create new content to support social media campaigns and partner websites.
* Produce and share “News” and articles through the recruitment process with communications/brand teams.
