Position Description An excellent opportunity has arisen for a proactive and flexible individual to join the Consett Team, part of the Modine Group as a Logistics Driver, working within the Stores/Production Teams and will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of goods between warehouses and customers (when required). The role involves operating company vehicles, fork lift trucks and ensuring products are delivered between sites in a safe and timely manner. The successful candidate will also be willing and able to have transferable skills to move between departments, if workload dictates. Key Responsibilities Transport Goods: Safely load, transport, and unload materials to and from assigned destinations. Route Planning: Plan delivery routes for efficiency, considering road conditions, schedules, and delivery priorities. Vehicle Operation: Operate company vans, fork lift trucks, following road safety laws and internal policies. Documentation: Complete delivery paperwork and logs accurately. Customer Interaction: Provide professional, courteous service during collections and deliveries. Safety Compliance: Follow all traffic rules, health & safety guidelines, and company procedures. Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct daily vehicle checks, report defects, and ensure vehicles remain clean and roadworthy. Inventory Handling: Assist with loading/unloading using pallet jacks, forklifts, or manual handling equipment. Issue Reporting: Report delays, damaged goods, or route problems to supervisors promptly. Collaboration: Work closely with stores team and Production supervisors to maintain smooth delivery operations. Required Education & Qualifications Valid driving licence. Forklift licence. Proven experience as a delivery, courier, or logistics driver. Good knowledge of regional road networks. Ability to lift and handle goods safely. Strong time management and organisational skill. Physically fit/able. Good communication and customer service skills. Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance. Ability to work independently and follow schedules Additional training will be provided for the right applicant to develop the skills & knowledge required for the position.
