Job Summary
Location: Leek, Staffordshire
Since the first branch of General Traffic opened in 1983, our family owned business has grown to become one of the largest stockists of automotive spares in the North West and the Midlands.
* Dealing with members of the public, providing advice and guidance on the best product for the customer, and ensuring that all requests and queries are dealt with to a high standard
* You will receive & process payments.
* Ensuring all monies are stored safely
* Till balancing
* Following company procedure and policies
* You will be examining parts so a close attention to detail will be required.
* Processing returns
* Ensuring that the work area and shop floor is clean and presentable at all times
* Ensuring that merchandise is displayed effectively
* Mark & store parts or products on shop floor according to prearranged system
* Carrying out branch stock take as required
* You will need to maintain your knowledge of products by reading catalogues, computer displays and manufacturers' specification or otherwise obtain information from relevant sources so you can correctly advise customers on substitution or modification of parts when identical replacements are not available – liaising with Manager.
* When not busy at the counter you may be required to take telephone orders
* Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships.
* Keep up to date technically & applying new knowledge to the role.
* Make decisions and solve problems.
* Perform general physical activities.
* Evaluate information to determine compliance with standards.
* Recognise security risks and thefts and understand the companies' procedures for handling thefts.
* You may be asked, on occasion, to undertake tasks not ordinarily associated with a retail assistant
* Essential:
* Good communication and inter-personnel skills as well as a strong appreciation of customer service values.
* Experience in the industry.

Pay: £27,500.00-£29,000.00 per year
