A co-educational private school for both day and boarding pupils in Reading, Berkshire, catering for 1540 students and teachers daily. The role involves catering for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and breaks, with a significant hospitality component. This is a 46.6 weeks contract. The operation runs 7 days a week, with working patterns of 5 days out of 7. Additional benefits include free on-site parking.
Shift timings: between 0700 - 1930.
We are seeking a talented Chef De Partie to join our team at a prestigious location in Reading.
Ideal candidates will have experience working in a fast-paced kitchen at CDP or junior sous chef level, with a passion for working with fresh seasonal ingredients and bespoke menus. Creativity and skill showcase opportunities are available.
Key responsibilities:
1. Work effectively within a team of chefs to provide catering services to pupils and teachers.
2. Prepare food from scratch using fresh ingredients, adhering to brand standards.
3. Maintain food standards and control wastage.
4. Follow all Food Hygiene, Health & Safety policies, and allergen control procedures.
Skills required:
1. Genuine interest in food and customer service.
2. Team player with innovation and passion for great food.
3. Organized with attention to detail.
4. Understanding of food cost and wastage basics.
5. Proficiency in verbal and written English.
6. Experience in customer service or food preparation environments is preferred.
