National Income Service Income Recovery Officer – 32301

Our ambition is “Funding Environmental Regulation by Maximising Our Income”. We are looking for two Income Recovery Officers within the National Income Service Business Improvement Team. The role is a 12‑month fixed term contract, part of a dispersed team and involves supporting organisational delivery objectives by maximising income recovery.
Responsibilities
* Communicate with customers through written and verbal contact to discuss outstanding payments.
* Engage customers, build and maintain strong relationships, focusing on quality, performance and innovation.
* Respond to incidents, available for incident role, may attract additional payment and training will be given.
* Support the NIS Business Improvement team, contributing to continuous improvement and teamwork.
Qualifications
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build and maintain effective working relationships.
* Experience of working with systems to collect and interrogate data, translating evidence into actionable steps.
* Confident sharing findings, themes and trends via written and verbal communication formats.
* Resilient, able to flex plans to manage a varied workload, prioritise, and deliver good quality outcomes.
* Comfortable managing own workload working as part of a dispersed team.
* Professional experience in debt collections or customer service roles preferred.
Contract and Location
Full‑time, 12‑month contract. Base location flexible (subject to local facilities agreement). Part‑time or flexible hours may be considered.
