Apprenticeship Details
At DAF, we provide an extensive, high-quality apprenticeship that offers opportunities for advancement and a successful career in the motor industry. The program covers a wide range of skills, allowing apprentices to potentially move into various areas of the motor industry.
Daily Tasks
* Observing and assisting technicians
* Following health and safety procedures
* Servicing vehicles
* Performing MOTs
* All aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair
Apprentices will work at a DAF garage and attend the DAF Academy in Nottingham four times a year for two-week periods, working towards their Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician Standard. A Skills Coach will visit at least every 28 days to support their progress.
Training Includes
* Technical Certificate - IMI Diploma in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
* Functional Skills in English, Maths, and ICT (if required)
* Recognised Welding Certificate
* Apprenticeship Standard - Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician Level 3
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with shifts that may include evenings and weekends.
