: About the Role
Reporting to the VP, Research and Analysis, the Senior Research Analyst II you will develop relevant experience and knowledge so that they can eventually become an expert of a particular chemical product chain. Analysts act to support and develop the economic and other modelling capabilities on which the chemical industry expertise and insight offered by Chemical Market Analytics is built. Analysts will have a client-facing role, not only in answering client queries to participate in client webinars, make presentations, be responsible for some content in bespoke client projects and discuss chemical chains. As such, they play an integral role in every aspect of the relationship with client companies. This can occasionally include resolving service accessibility issues, product support, and data requests.
You Will:
1. Market products and services through direct and indirect client contact
2. Perform presentations for clients: online, in our offices and at client sites
3. Contribute to individual client projects in the ammonia-urea space
4. World Analysis Responsibilities: supply-demand, long-term pricing, trade and a written description of the current and forecast state of the industry
5. Maintain a detailed working knowledge of the basic databases and tools for responsible products, (Supply/Demand, Global Pricing System, Capacity Data Base, Trade Grids).
6. Econometrics - Maintenance and modifications for product specific models
7. Supply/Demand - Maintain, update, and balance long forms up through entire product chains, short forms, trade grids and quarterlies.
8. Maintain product capacities based on market intelligence
9. Pursue and develop unique analytical approaches that provide value to clients and potential clients
You Have:
10. Bachelor's Degree - Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Economics/Business
11. Demonstrable related work experience
12. Previous work experience in a Petrochemicals company a significant advantage
13. Previous experience using analytical skills, as a Business Analyst
14. Experience in customer-facing roles an advantage
15. Chemical industry knowledge combined with a good level of product expertise
16. Expertise with Microsoft Office products, particularly MS excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets)
17. A conceptual understanding of how economics and politics influence markets
18. Capable public speaker
