Early Years Manager - May - Long Road, Cambridge
Hours: 08:00-18:00, Monday - Friday. (Total hours will not exceed 47.5 hours per week)
Salary: £580.24 - £718.65 per week, depending on age, experience, qualifications, and camp size
(Contracts for February Half Term will be issued at 2023 wage levels. 2024 wage levels will be effective from 1st April.)
Report to: Camp Manager, Area Manager, and Central Office

Early Years Manager Duties
1. Support and deliver induction training and oversee setup days before camp begins
2. Complete paperwork and manage high-risk activities according to Barracudas Activity Codes of Practice
3. Enforce health and safety regulations to maintain a safe environment
4. Ensure the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage by planning explore and play sessions
5. Reinforce health and safety regulations regularly
6. Act as Designated Person (DP) for safeguarding, dealing with child protection and safeguarding issues
7. Update and communicate with Area Managers and Central Office regularly
8. Conduct observations and participate in high-risk activities with Early Years staff while engaging with children
9. Regularly check staff understanding of safeguarding procedures
10. Serve as the main contact for OFSTED inspectors during camp
11. Communicate with parents, handle administrative tasks, and manage Early Years staff
12. Maintain tidiness of site and baserooms, and ensure all equipment is packed away
13. Assess and review staff performance at the end of the season
14. Support staff during sessions as needed
Requirements
* Attend compulsory senior training events (see contract for details)
* Early Years qualified (e.g., Primary qualified, CACHE Level 3, Primary PGCE, BA in Primary Education)
* Experience in a childcare setting
* Eligible to work in the UK
* Obtain an enhanced DBS check through Barracudas or have an existing one on the Update Service
* Provide satisfactory professional and academic references
* Attend and deliver induction training days before camp opens
* Complete online training annually
* Coordinate pack-up at the end of camp
* Aim for at least 50% of seniors to be Paediatric First Aid trained, depending on camp size
Additional Responsibilities
* Follow health and safety procedures diligently
* Proactively address safety issues
* Prepare for induction training using relevant manuals
* Evaluate staff performance at the end of their contracts
* Report child protection concerns to a designated person at Central Office
* Be aware of children with additional medical or dietary needs and assist with reasonable adjustments if needed
* Administer medication correctly following EI forms and complete documentation
* Bring swimwear daily for swimming sessions if required
