Primary Care Network (PCN) Pharmacy Technician
Thisis an exciting time to be working in general practice and shaping the future ofprimary care. Brighton North and Central PCN are seeking experienced, motivatedand forward-thinking Pharmacy Technician to join our existing pharmacy team.
Thepost-holder will be given opportunities to shadow other healthcareprofessionals and be supported to develop and advance the role within the PCNpharmacy team, working both autonomously and in collaboration with othermembers of the wider multidisciplinary team.
Weare passionate about developing the pharmacy professionals of the future andthe successful candidates will be supported to enrol onto the 15-month CPPEPrimary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway in addition to joining a peer-to-peermentoring programme under the supervision of a consultant pharmacist to furthersupport education and development.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be responsible for carrying out a variety ofduties and roles for individual practices and the PCN and will drive medicines reconciliation andoptimisation through undertaking tasks such as, but not limited to; the safetransfer of care from secondary and tertiary settings, promote and managerepeat dispensing and online ordering with the aim of reducing medicineswastage through safe and cost-effective prescribing.
The post-holder will also be involved inanswering medication queries from a variety of clinicians, colleagues and patientswithin their scope of practice and competency, referring to clinical pharmacists as appropriate. The successful post-holders would also have the opportunity to runface-to-face clinics managing patients with chronic conditions and take anactive role in reviewing and optimising their medication.
About us
Brighton Northand Central PCN is a group of four GP practices workingcollaboratively for our local population of approximately 42,000 patientsacross Brighton and Hove. We are a dynamic and supportive PCN, covering adiverse cohort of patients with a variety of demographics and health conditions,including a large student population.
The successful candidate will be joining a well-established innovative PCN pharmacy team, consisting of five clinical pharmacists and three pharmacy technicians, supported by a lead PCN pharmacist.
Aside from alarge and well supported pharmacy team, the PCN also employs a plethora ofother healthcare professionals to support and improve the health and wellbeingof our patients. Successful post-holders will join and work alongside this wider multidisciplinary team.
Asan evolving PCN, there is the opportunity for successful candidates to workwith the PCN and shape the role to suit their individual interests and theneeds of the PCN population.

Qualifications
* NVQ at level 3
* Evidence of post-NVQ further learning
* ACT course completion
* Working towards completion of National Competency Framework for Primary Care Pharmacy Technician
Experience
* Minimum of 2 years working at a higher level of pharmacy technician practice
