Hull, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Bath, Colchester, London Harrow or London Hatfield, United Kingdom

We run junior summer courses for English language students aged between 10-17. We have students from all over the world. The majority will be Italian, but we also have students from Spain, France, Portugal, Poland, Czech Republic, Argentina, Cyprus to name a few! Students usually stay for two weeks and take part in a mixed programme of lessons and activities/excursions which are run by Activity Leaders.

Our Mission:

At Target English International, we aim to provide our students with a comfortable and caring setting in the UK to improve their communication in English and develop skills for a more global society. We want our students to leave the course with a better understanding of UK culture and the inspiration to become life-long learners of English.


Overview of role

Job Title: Centre Manager

Line Manager: Target English International Director

Pay rate: Competitive, dependent on contract type + full-board accommodation and holiday pay

Dates: June to August

Hours: As required (typically 48 hours per week. Evening and weekend work required)

You are a competent manager with significant experience in the EFL and summer school industry. You will have overall responsibility for delivering the product sold to clients, including the successful execution of the academic and activities programmes. Financial, operational, management, diplomacy and problem-solving skills are essential requirements for this position. Our aim is to ensure our students have an amazing summer – the CM will make this happen!

Our staff are without doubt our most valuable asset and our students frequently say the staff are one of the best things about their study holiday. We welcome new applicants but also value our returning staff, and to both we offer an attractive package that includes:

* Full-board accommodation if required
* Holiday pay
* Full induction on-site. (Managers are requiredto attend our 2 day induction weekend held at the University of Hull before the start of your contract.)
* £10 a week returner’s increment (up to a maximum of 3 years)

Safeguarding

* Suitability checks (Enhanced DBS checks or overseas equivalent) will be required prior to confirmation of appointment.
* Staff will complete online Safeguarding and online Prevent training

All posts defined as ‘regulated activity’ are subject to Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS) or Scottish PVG check. If your application is successful, we will ask the DBS/PVG for a Disclosure and you must declare below to give your consent before this can take place.

The cost of the check will be shared 50/50 between Target English and the employee, with each party to contribute approximately £25 (subject to change). This will be deducted from the first payroll of the summer.

Please note: If you are a non-UK national or a UK national who has lived outside the UK for the last 5 years you must also provide us with a Police Certificate of Good Conduct (or similar) from your country (or previous country) of residence that is less than six months old.
