Job Title: Senior Software Developer
Responsible to: IT Manager (Finance Director)
Salary: £40,000-£50,000
Status: Full Time, Permanent
Post Purpose
The purpose of the Senior Software Developer role is to support the IT Manager in ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the IT department and to provide high-quality, fast-response services to all users. Responsibilities include reactive, preventative, and proactive tasks aimed at maintaining and improving the core Line of Business Application (LoBA).

Accountabilities
* Accountable for quality of work and user service to internal and external customers.
* Manage own tasks effectively and meet targets within set timescales.
* Maintain workstation and equipment responsibly.
* Ensure health and safety standards are upheld.
* Handle files and information related to your area of responsibility.
Key Job Responsibilities
General Responsibilities
* Handle all inquiries promptly on receipt.
* Respond to emails and phone calls daily.
* Address initial inquiries professionally and politely.
* Consult task list daily.
Customer Care Responsibilities
* Attend to client queries promptly, providing advice and solutions.
* Keep users informed proactively about issue status.
General IT Responsibilities
* Adhere to quality and company procedures for information management and development.
* Manage tasks via the Project Management System.
* Gather information during initial calls to facilitate quick resolution.
* Investigate issues and determine solutions.
* Coordinate with service providers and monitor ongoing issues.
* Complete regular system checks.
* Record non-conformances and assist in future IT planning.
Programming Responsibilities
* Maintain and improve internal administration systems and portals.
* Update and enhance company websites.
* Provide programming services to stakeholders and clients.
* Conduct quality work checks when required.
* Oversee, design, and test new software developments.
* Participate in project planning and review roadmaps.
* Assist in hardware procurement and ensure software licensing compliance.
* Support IT system administration and user training.
* Document system changes and manage tasks in the Project Management System.
Line Manager Reporting
* Update IT Manager on progress.
* Provide timely feedback to management and staff.
* Participate in meetings, training, appraisals, and performance reviews.
Other Duties
* Follow company rules, health and safety guidelines, and maintain confidentiality.
* Support team members and share knowledge.
* Undertake additional duties as required.
Section 2: Conditions of Service
* Terms of Employment: Full-time, permanent
* Probation: 6 months
* Holidays: 30 days annually (pro-rata), including public holidays
* Hours: 35 hours/week, 9:00-17:00, Monday-Friday
* Location: Canal House, St Marys St, Newry, with other depots as required
Section 3: Person Specification
* Degree in computer-related subjects and 3+ years recent experience in database development (Access, SQL Server) and programming (SQL, Visual Basic, ASP).
* Strong C#/VB.NET skills, experience with ASP.NET, Razor, Blazor, XamarinForms/.NET MAUI, LINQ, and Agile methodologies.
* Proficient in SQL Server, T-SQL, schema design, XML/JSON, and report design.
* Experience in user-focused environments, excellent communication, and team collaboration skills.
* Ability to work independently, solve problems, and maintain confidentiality.
* Valid driving license and access to transport for business use.
Desirable Skills
* Knowledge of VB.Net, T-SQL, XML, and WPF with MVVM pattern.
