About Barker Ross Barker Ross is a UK recruitment business supplying temporary and permanent staff across industrial, food, production, logistics/warehouse and construction. Were growing and modernising fast, and we want an IT Assistant who can keep the business running smoothly day-to-day while helping us adopt smarter tools and automation. The Role Youll be the first line of support for everyday IT issues across the business, working closely with our leadership team and external IT partners. Youll also play a key part in improving how we use Microsoft 365, supporting AI adoption, and helping boost our online performance through SEO basics and analytics. Key Responsibilities Day-to-day IT support First point of contact for staff: laptops/desktops, printers, Wi-Fi, logins, email issues, Teams calls, file access. Onboard/offboard users (accounts, permissions, equipment setup, access removal). Manage and maintain an IT asset register and basic documentation/how-to guides. Escalate and coordinate bigger issues with external IT/support providers. Microsoft 365 / Modern workplace Support user/admin tasks across Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and general M365 setup. Help improve how teams use SharePoint/Teams for document control, structure and collaboration. Support basic security hygiene (passwords, MFA support, access controls, device compliance where applicable). AI & automation support Support rollout and adoption of tools like Copilot/ChatGPT and productivity automations. Build simple automations using Power Automate (and/or Zapier) to remove repetitive admin. Help teams with how to guidance: prompts, templates, quick wins, training sessions. SEO / website support Support basic SEO improvements: metadata, page titles, keyword structure, internal linking. Use tools like Google Analytics / Search Console (or equivalent) to track performance and report insights. Assist marketing with technical setup/troubleshooting for site updates and tracking. What Were Looking For Essential A clear understanding of AI and it's capabilities Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Teams/Outlook/SharePoint/OneDrive). Confident troubleshooting and communicating with non-technical users. Organised, reliable, and calm under pressure. Desirable (big plus) Experience with Power Automate, Zapier, or workflow automation. Interest or practical experience using AI tools for business (Copilot/ChatGPT etc.). Basic understanding of SEO, Google Analytics/Search Console, and website fundamentals (WordPress/CMS helpful).
