Position: HSE Manager - 18-month FTC
Main Purpose of the Job: This role is responsible for providing environmental, health, and safety guidance, collaborating with the plant EHS team and operational management to ensure compliance, and implementing good manufacturing and continuous improvement practices to make EHS a value-added part of the business.
Main Responsibilities:
* Maintain costs within the area of responsibility.
* Engage with relevant stakeholders through a collaborative approach.
* Conduct inspections of working conditions and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Stay updated on occupational hazards and propose measures to mitigate them.
* Prepare and present analyses on health and safety, including proposals for risk prevention and workplace improvements.
* Participate in workplace modernization and development plans, including safety considerations.
* Assist in the commissioning of new or reconstructed buildings and facilities.
* Manage applications related to health and safety in new or existing production processes.
* Ensure ergonomic requirements are preserved at workplaces.
* Contribute to the development of company policies, regulations, and instructions related to health and safety.
* Provide detailed occupational health and safety instructions at individual workplaces.
* Investigate workplace accidents and occupational diseases, and implement corrective actions.
* Maintain records and documentation related to HSES.
* Advise on health and safety regulations and principles.
* Manage risk assessment programs and advise on protective measures.
* Promote a culture of safety across all levels of the organization.
* Coordinate and ensure proper training in occupational health and safety.
* Participate in safety committees and initiatives to prevent occupational hazards.
* Develop initiatives to raise awareness on occupational health, safety, and ergonomics.
* Support and advise other departments in health and safety matters.
* Drive the business forward with a focus on safety and compliance.
This role is part of a dynamic, collaborative team.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
* Proven experience in the automotive industry, with at least 3 years as a quality and/or EHS engineer, or significant experience in production as an EHS specialist.
* Degree in chemistry, machinery, mechanics, environment, or health & safety, or equivalent education.
* Strong knowledge of ISO14001, ISO45001, applicable EHS legislation, and customer requirements. Knowledge of IATF16949 is preferred.
* Internal auditor training is desirable.
* Proficiency in the local language; English is preferred.
* Proficient in PC use.
* Strong organizational and communication skills.
* Empathic and active listening abilities.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks across different teams simultaneously.
