Responsibilities
* Plan, facilitate and supervise a wide range of play‑based activities and social experiences both in and outdoors, including setting up the play space to ensure it is safe, stimulating and welcoming.
* Empower children to lead their own play, guiding them as needed to boost their creativity and independence.
* Support children to prepare healthy snacks in line with dietary and nutritional needs and guidelines.
* Support and encourage children to build confidence, self‑esteem and lifelong skills through play and exploration.
* Deal with accidents and incidents, responding calmly and professionally, ensuring children’s health and wellbeing needs are met.
Qualifications
* Fun, engaging and experienced with children and young people of all ages.
* Holder of a relevant childcare qualification, or willing to work towards one as required by the Scottish Social Services Council.
* Reliable, possessing good communication skills and able to work as part of a team.

Pre‑employment requirements
Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain a Level 2 Disclosure with PVG. This will be actioned as part of your pre‑employment checks.
As this role requires SSSC registration, you will have three months to apply for registration.
If appointed, you must start your application as soon as possible, so you’re registered within the required six months.
If you need to achieve a qualification to maintain your SSSC membership, information will be provided if you are appointed. You must ensure you complete the qualification within the specified timeframe.
