HR Assistant
Full-time, permanent, 35.75 hours per week
Salary – £28, per annum
Location - Meadowbank Sports Centre

Working as a part of the HR team, you will be responsible for:
1. Maintaining the HR database, ensuring all employee information and documentation is up to date, including administration of new starters, leavers and contract amendments.
2. Ensuring the appropriate pre-employment and reference checks are completed and recorded.
3. Monitoring completion of probationary meetings and ensuring appropriate correspondence is completed.
4. Providing HR and payroll advice and support via the HR helpdesk relating to absence, parental/adoption leave, grievance, or other employee-related queries.
5. Working with Payroll Manager to check off payroll, monitor additional hours and exceptions and support running the monthly payroll.
6. Updating and reviewing rostering workforce management data, verifying hours worked, and ensuring the accuracy of timesheet submissions.
7. Delivering informative staff briefing sessions to enhance awareness of employee benefits.
Our ideal candidate will have:
8. A degree or relevant experience in HR, covering areas such as attendance management, onboarding, resource management, and manager support.
9. An empathetic, compassionate, and approachable personality with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of conveying information effectively across all organisational levels.
10. Strong listening skills, coupled with a kind and understanding approach to handling difficult situations and highly sensitive information and data.
11. Strong organisational skills with the ability to problem-solve and prioritise, coupled with high accuracy and attention to detail.
12. Good working knowledge of MS Office, sound keyboard skills, and the ability to navigate various IT software/systems.

This is a hybrid role with time spent between our head office at Meadowbank, Edinburgh Leisure venues across the city and home working.
