The Role
Are you looking to develop your career in finance within a supportive and collaborative team? The SAgE Faculty Finance team is seeking a motivated and detail-focused individual to support the delivery of high-quality management accounting services across the Faculty.
As part of the Faculty Finance team, you will play an important role in enabling effective devolved financial management. You’ll work closely with School-based Finance Business Partners and colleagues across the Faculty, contributing to accurate reporting, planning and financial control.
What you’ll do:
1. Support the delivery of management accounting activities, including journals, adjustments, invoicing and financial reporting
2. Maintain and update financial systems and master data (including SAP), ensuring accuracy and reliability
3. Contribute to planning, project finance and statutory data returns to support effective financial management

4. Experience working in a finance environment, with confidence using financial systems and handling data accurately
5. Strong numeracy, IT and communication skills, with the ability to interpret and explain financial information
6. An organised, proactive team player who can manage deadlines and deliver a high-quality service

Key Accountabilities
7. To carry out a range of management accounting tasks as part of the Faculty finance team e.g. the entering of accounting adjustments on a monthly basis and the preparation and entering of journals and sales invoices
8. To produce reports using Business Warehouse and Integrated Planning
9. To create and maintain SAP accounts, structures and other master data as required by the Finance team
10. To support a range of project finance tasks e.g. costing and reporting
11. To undertake a range of planning and data collection activities e.g. OFFA Return, HESA returns and Key Performance Indicator production

Skills and Experience
12. You should have recent relevant experience of working in a financial environment and experience of working with large financial systems, in particular master data / transaction input and reporting routines is desirable
13. You will good interpersonal skills and possess excellent oral and written communication skills and high level of numeracy in order to interpret and explain financial data effectively
14. You will have the ability to work quickly and accurately, with attention to detail, to time in order to meet monthly and quarterly financial deadlines
15. You will have well developed IT skills to manipulate data in spreadsheets and databases and it is desirable that you have some experience in SAP Financial systems

Qualifications
22. Educated to a minimum of 5 GCSE’s grades A to C (including Maths and English) or equivalent by experience
23. Educated to A Level standard or hold an AAT (or equivalent qualification) (desirable)
