Quantity Surveyor / Estimator

Up to £65,000 (DOE) + Package
An established Liverpool-based contractor is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their growing commercial team.
This is a varied role suited to someone who is confident working across both pre-contract and post-contract duties, supporting projects from initial tender stage through to final account.
The company delivers a range of construction and M&E-led projects across sectors including education, healthcare, housing, commercial, retail and leisure, with a strong pipeline of work across the North West.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing estimates, reviewing drawings and specifications, managing subcontractor enquiries, producing tender submissions, and supporting the commercial management of live projects.
They will also be involved in valuations, variations, payment applications, cost reporting, procurement support and final accounts.
This position would suit someone who enjoys variety and wants to be involved across the full commercial lifecycle of a project rather than being limited to either estimating or quantity surveying.
Key Responsibilities
• Preparing estimates, tenders and cost plans
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and project documentation
• Sending out and reviewing subcontractor enquiries
• Producing accurate pricing documents and tender submissions
• Managing valuations, variations and payment applications
• Supporting procurement and subcontractor negotiation
• Monitoring project costs and commercial performance
• Assisting with final accounts and project close-out
• Working closely with project managers, directors and site teams
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Estimator or QS/Estimator within construction, M&E, refurbishment, fit-out or general contracting.
They will need to be commercially aware, organised and confident managing both tendering and live project commercial duties.
