Overview
This busy specialty is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated person who can offer excellent administrative support to assist in the smooth running of the Endoscopy booking office.
The Endoscopy Clerical Officer will have responsibility for administrative duties within the endoscopy booking office and reception area. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring an optimum level of efficient clerical support to the department in a timely and accurate manner.
Responsibilities
* Provide administrative support within the endoscopy booking office and reception area to ensure efficient clerical operations.
* Manage booking and scheduling for Endoscopy Unit; contribute to waiting list management and elective rescheduling.
* Handle enquiries from patients and staff, and provide face-to-face reception coverage on a rotational basis.
* Work closely with managers and staff at all levels to develop and maintain a high-quality booking and scheduling service for the Endoscopy Unit.
* Assist with coordination across The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, including potential travel to The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and The Princess Royal Hospital in Telford on a rotational basis.
Qualifications and Skills
* Administrative experience, including previous booking and/or appointment experience, would be beneficial.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; understanding of data protection and maintaining strict confidentiality in the healthcare setting.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills, flexibility, good time management, and the ability to work as part of a team.
About the Role and Organisation
The post holder will be working within the busy office based at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (across main site and William Farr House); however, travel to work at both The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and The Princess Royal Hospital in Telford on a rotational basis may be required.
