Administrative Officer - HMCTS (Court & Tribunal Support)
Location: Truro Crown Court
Hours: Part time (Monday - Wednesday)
Pay: £12.86 per hour, increasing to £13.25 after 12 weeks
Temp: MAT Leave cover until 18th November 2026
Start date: 18th May 2026
Our client, a reputable government organisation, is hiring for a dedicated Administrative Officer to join their team in Truro. This role is vital in supporting the smooth operation of courts and tribunals, ensuring high standards of customer service and efficient case processing.
What you'll be doing:
* Preparing papers, files, and court documents for hearings and meetings
* Managing records, data input, and updating in-house systems
* Handling face-to-face, telephone, and written enquiries with professionalism
* Supporting the organisation of meetings, training, and other group activities
* Processing casework including court orders, claims, fines, and legal aid documentation
* Verifying documents, ensuring compliance, and maintaining quality standards
* Communicating effectively with judiciary, court users, and external agencies
* Contributing to team meetings, problem-solving, and small projects
* Undertaking ad hoc duties such as jury bailiff or health & safety roles
What you'll bring:
* Five GCSE passes (A-C) or NVQ Business Administration Level II, or relevant administrative experience
* Strong computer skills to manage data and documentation
* Excellent customer service skills with a professional, helpful approach
* Ability to work flexibly within a team and adapt to changing priorities
* Good organisational skills and attention to detail
* Effective communication skills for liaising with diverse stakeholders
