First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Workshop Team Leader to join our clients team in Swanley.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day efficient running of the engineering team within the workshop, supporting high-quality service delivery and maintaining customer satisfaction. The role involves leading, motivating, and supporting engineers while acting as the first point of contact for all operational issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the overall performance of the workshop team against KPI targets
2. Ensure efficient turnaround of used equipment
3. Monitor on-time preparation against committed dates (New, Used, STR)
4. Maintain average job times in line with agreed targets
5. Ensure quality standards are consistently met
6. Manage output levels of prepared trucks against targets
7. Leading and supporting the engineering team on a daily basis
8. Acting as the first point of contact for engineers
9. Driving team engagement, motivation, and performance
10. Maintaining high standards of housekeeping within the workshop and warehouse
11. Supporting a high-quality customer experience
12. Carrying out engineering duties as required
Skills and Qualifications:
13. Qualified mechanical engineer (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
14. Strong people management skills
15. Excellent communication skills
16. Comfortable in customer-facing situations
17. Good numeracy and literacy skills
18. Competent with IT systems
19. Proactive, motivated, and team-oriented
20. Conflict management experience

Location: Swanley
Salary: £39,000 – £43,000 + Benefits
