We’re recruiting for a Mechanical Shift Engineer to join a leading building services provider, delivering both planned and reactive M&E maintenance at a prestigious site in Moorgate, London. Role Overview: As a key member of the on-site engineering team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operation of mechanical and building services systems across a large commercial property. You’ll work on a continental shift rota (days and nights) alongside other engineers to ensure smooth and efficient facility operations 24/7. ️ Responsibilities: Carrying out PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) on mechanical systems (HVAC, pumps, valves, FCUs, AHUs etc.) Responding to reactive maintenance issues and breakdowns Fault finding, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical plant and equipment Working closely with electrical engineers and contractors on-site Ensuring all work is completed to high health & safety and compliance standards Accurate logging of tasks via CAFM systems ✅ Requirements: Mechanical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent) Proven experience in commercial building maintenance Strong understanding of mechanical building services and systems Good communication and teamwork skills Flexible and reliable, able to work both days and nights on a shift rota What’s on Offer: Competitive salary of £52,000 per annum Opportunities for overtime Excellent training and development prospects Working for a stable and respected service provider High-profile site in the heart of London Ready to take the next step in your engineering career?
