Job Advertisement: Music Teacher – Long-Term Role in Leeds

Position: Music Teacher
Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire
Contract Type: Long-Term (with potential for permanent position)

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join a vibrant and supportive school in Leeds for a long-term role. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to inspire students and nurture their musical talents, helping them to develop creativity, discipline, and performance skills. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher to work in a dynamic environment with a strong commitment to music education.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Deliver engaging and high-quality music lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
2. Teach a variety of music genres, including theory, composition, and performance.
3. Support students in their preparation for GCSE Music exams and other assessments.
4. Encourage student participation in school music ensembles, choirs, and performances.
5. Develop and enhance the music curriculum to engage and inspire students.
6. Provide a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters creativity and confidence.
7. Work closely with other members of the teaching team to develop cross-curricular projects.

Requirements:

1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
2. A passion for music and the ability to inspire students through both practical and theoretical lessons.
3. Strong knowledge of music theory, composition, and performance techniques.
4. Ability to teach music to students of varying abilities and interests.
5. Experience in delivering GCSE Music is preferred but not essential.
6. Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
7. A commitment to student development and fostering a love for music.
